- Gardening Gloves - at least class set: Small (cheaper kids gloves), Medium (quality kids gloves), Large (ladies gloves)
- Disposable 1 use cafeteria gloves
- Handwashing station or Hand Sanitizer (have MSDS Sheet on file)
- (Water with potable water – free from the school) Do not use rain barrels for edible plants.
- Drip irrigation or other irrigation
- Garden Hose, spray nozzle, hose storage
- Watering Cans – 1 gallon sizes making it easier for children to carry
- Optional – Composting supplies including a thermometer and ways to turn it. (NO Manure!!!) Or purchase compost from a reputable source
- Fence
- Sanitized Harvesting Containers or new plastic storage bags – consider where you store them – mice and other animals can get into a shed making containers unsanitized
- Tasting/Food Prep supplies – sanitized
- Place to store harvest before eating or donating
- Raised beds (NO treated wood), containers, hanging planters/hangers, etc.
- Class sets of kid friendly hand tools – trowels, cultivators, circle hoes etc. (Consider quality plastic [fibercomp] for safety)
- Class sets of kid sized long handled tools – shovels and garden rakes
- Shed or storage area – If sharp tools or other items are stored here, consider not allowing children to enter the shed.

- Amended soil (compost, lime, source of nitrogen, etc.)

- Class sets of buckets for weeding
- Supplies for organic weed and pest control: large Sprayer, vinegar, dish soap, spray bottles, paper towel rolls,

- Adult tools – hand tools, rakes, hoes, spades, gloves, pruners
- Kids safety scissors for harvesting things like okra
- Storage containers for everything
